Snow & Ice - A Hitsugaya Tale (Chapter 5)

The bounts are identified as threats and Toshiro and Alice get together to "Come up with a plan" (To the left is Alice - not owned by me, taken from google.)

Toshiro: The head captain began to speak. "Yoruichi Shihoin has found evidence of creatures terrorizing the world of the living! These being have come to be known as bounts." The word was unfamiliar to Toshiro. He wondered what they were. "They are highly dangerous and are believed to be planning to infiltrate the seritei. I want immediate preparation. 12th squad will continue investigations. That is all!" Toshiro caught up with Hirataka the first chance he got. After small talk he began.

"Hirataka, what is your squad planning to do?"
Toshiro was worried for them. There forces were weak as it was, but Hirataka was still injured. They had no way of knowing when the bounts would attack.

"Ummm, well I’m not sure. I think we should just train as hard as we can right now."
"That’s not good enough," Toshiro yelled. He hadn’t meant to yell, but for some reason he was angry.
"It's alright; I know if we train hard enough we will be fine. We have that substitute soul reaper in the world of the living right? He should keep the bounts at bay."
"Come with me Hirataka," Toshiro lead her to there barracks where he began creating a training regiment for there squads.

Alice
: Alice played along with Hitsugaya’s idea. It took them all day and late hours into the night to create the training program. When it was finished she sat back with her tea. "Why did you want our squads working together Toshiro?"

"My name is Captain Hitsugaya, and I think it would be better if we trained together."

"OOOO, captain you have a crush" Rangiku stepped in with a huge grin on her face.
"What is it Matsumoto?" Hitsugaya was clearly angry.
"Oh, not much really, just wondering why Captain Hirataka is here at such a late hour." Rangiku smirked. She was having fun.

"Well Matsumoto, why don’t you sit down? I think me and Toshiro where...oh I mean Capitan Hitsugaya...where just about done here, right?"

Hitsugaya shrugged. He went back to his desk and sat down. He was tired. He laid his head back and in the right light he looked stunning.
Alice found herself stealing glances at him while she and Rangiku talked. After a little bit longer she decided it was time for her to leave. She had a lot of work to do in the morning. Rangiku left and Alice started gathering up the papers they had been working on. It looked like Hitsugaya was asleep so she tried her best to be quiet. However, she hit a cup of tea and it spilled all over, breaking with the force of the floor. She looked up quickly, Hitsugaya lay still. *phew* She breathed out. She picked up the broken cup and went for a paper towel. It didn’t take her long to realize that she was not in her barracks. She scrambled but could not find a towel anywhere. She was afraid to go near Hitsugaya’s desk but it was the only place she hadn’t looked.

Slowly she moved towards the desk. She was almost there when all the sudden a cat meowed at her. She screamed the sudden noise in the otherwise dead quite room scared her. She tripped over her toes and landed on Hitsugaya. He woke with a grunt and the chair toppled.

Hitsugaya: He hadn’t quite fallen asleep when she had dropped the cup. He decided to try again. Then she snuck towards him but out of curiosity, he ignored her. But he could not keep his eyes shut when she had fallen on him, or when the chair had fallen. He looked down at Hirataka. Unfortunately he had landed on top. She had a small scratch on her face, and her kimono was ripped at the shoulder. He blushed. This was an awkward position. "Ummm, Are you ok?" he asked in almost a whisper.

"Ete! That really hurt," She opened her eyes and looked up at him. She was very pretty now that he had a look at her this close up. Her red hair and red eyes sparkled in the candle light. She was truly beautiful.

"Umm, I hate to bea bother but you wouldn’t mind getting up would you?" She asked him a bit skittishly.
"What? Oh ummm yeah." He got up and helped her off the ground. She brushed the dust off her hair and her kimono. "You okay?" he asked again.

"Mmhmm, just a little bump, ill be fine." Hitsugaya breathed out. He had been holding it in for so long. "I’m going to go to bed." He finished off the conversation and headed to his room.

Alice
: She was so lying. He side was killing her. That fall had hurt like none other. Man was she in pain. She walked back to her barracks. It was cold out. But she was warm. The heat in her cheeks provided warmth for her whole body. Why had he been looking at her like that? She didn’t have the energy to dwell on the thoughts. She got to her room and went to bed. She had way more important things to think about.
