Snow & Ice - A Hitsugaya Tale (Chapter 6)

Alice reviews the emotions she felt with Hitsugaya while he deals with them in his own way.

Toshiro: Hitsugaya woke with a bit of a headache. He had paper work to do so he shrugged it off. He reviewed the training program that he and Hirataka had come up with the night before. It was more suited for her squad so the training would be cake for his. He made a few adjustments to it and set it aside. He figured Hirataka would soon make her entrance so he got as much done as he could. However the first disturbance of the day was not by his new noisy friend but his old one. Matsumoto charged in claiming she was ready to "work." Simply meaning she would be lounging around talking up a storm. Which was exactly what she did. He listened on and off making the occasionally comment, but he was bothered. It was almost mid-day and Hirataka was not here.

Alice: When Alice woke she iced her head before getting to work. No more news about the bounts had surfaced and she worried a little. Her squad members made short visits within the hours to say hi or ask for something. So this is what being a captain was like. She enjoyed the feeling for a while before Toshiro found his way back into her mind. She was no fool. She understood that she obviously had a feeling of some sort for him. But she couldn't describe it. He was cold and always serious never laughing or playing, and sometimes she wondered if he was right in the head for a boy genius. Despite all this though she still felt something for him. And it was far beyond hate and dislike. It was something stronger. The thoughts made her tingle. Be it with pleasure or the fear of the unknown, it could have been both. All her thoughts were racing and before she new it, noon had arrived. If she took any longer Toshiro would surely be upset. She gathered her belongings and ran off for the 10th squad barracks.

Toshiro: When she arrived he remained absorbed in his work. He was happy she had finally come, but the feeling lasted a mere second before rage filled him instead. She had clearly forgotten about him and to top it off she haunted his every thought. Not knowing what to do he did what he did know. Anger. And that was something he was good at. She tried to grab his attention but he simply brushed her off. Finally her pleading drove him mad."What!" he raised his voice high enough for her to sense his anger.

"Hitsugaya, what about the training? When do you wanna start?" She said it calmly as if he had not just presented himself angry.

"Do it alone," he spat back "Clearly thats how you work."

"Thats not fair! I have work to!" She protested clearly losing her patience with him.

"I do not need your help, was it not you that suggested we go our septate ways anyhow? Why does the outcome now matter?" He was angry and he noticed his words had hurt her so he sat back down and continued to work. She turned without another word and left him alone, upset.
